Front forks (CrMo) + reinforced glasses, TUNING (CZ) - JAWA 50 555,05,20-21
Can be used for:
Tuning front fork Jawa 50 pionýr, type 05, 20, 21 and 23 (the fork can also be used for Jawa 555, but you won't have a grease nipple - it can be easily made).
The sabers are made of high-quality chrome-molybdenum steel, which is characterized by excellent strength. It is therefore suitable for both touring use and for cross purposes, where the original fork cannot handle jumps and rough handling. Can be mounted in the original neck with a mask.
The mounting for the upper glasses is 5mm (instead of 3mm which are the original). That is why the set also includes 5mm stainless glasses, which also have better rigidity. We removed all burrs on the cut, deburred the outer and inner edges and finally rounded them.
The outer tube is 2mm thick, the inner glider 2.6mm, both are made of CrMo.
The axle holder is welded with an allowance and then milled to the final size so that the wheel axle can be inserted without any problems.
We also deburred the holders on all sides so that you don't cut yourself on them, they look good and the paint doesn't start to peel off.
From experience, fender holders tend to bend or crack, so they were additionally reinforced to 2mm. (The original is 1.5mm)
In addition, longer sleeves made of better material are pressed into the tubes, which are reamed to the size of the inner slider. So you don't have to look for any reamer, just install them.
These sleeves are more durable than the original nylon ones. The lower sleeve also has a shoulder to prevent it from being inserted inward.
The complete fork assembly includes all stops, sleeves, springs, nuts and bolts.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is any maintenance required?
We recommend lubricating it once a year to make the POM-C bushings last as long as possible.
Is the inner glider calibrated/ground in some way?
The inner glider is made of a seamless precision tube with a thickness of 2.6mm. According to our measurements, its outer diameter ranges from 21.92-21.98mm. A difference of 0.06mm on a 400mm tube is very decent for us, and grinding it to a precise level would only unnecessarily thin the tube and make the entire fork more expensive.
Is the fork already lubricated with something?
No, we recommend lubricating it thoroughly with high-quality Vaseline before folding. We did not lubricate the gliders so that the tubes can be painted better.
Will my original fender, mask, wheel fit there?
Yes, the forks are the same size as the original ones.
How should I paint the telescopes and goggles?
The tubes are lubricated with preservative oil from the factory, we recommend degreasing them thoroughly before painting. Then you can paint. The forks can also be sandblasted for better paint adhesion (but it is not necessary). The upper glasses are made of stainless steel, so there is no need to paint them. Anyway, if you want them to be inconspicuous, you can also paint them. In addition, they are already sandblasted.
What is the length of the mounted springs?
The springs have an original length of 245mm
What is the size of the pressed-on sleeves?
The first is reinforced 16cm deep (from the edge of the tube to the lower edge of the sleeve). The second is reinforced right at the beginning. The clearance with the inner tube is minimal.
Have you also thought about making a thicker lower neck?
Yes, we already have it drawn from 12mm stainless steel with a CrMo tube and we will produce the first test pieces. They could be on the e-shop in about a month if nothing goes wrong..
What to make front oil shock absorbers for Jawa 50?
We are also working on this, we are currently making the first pieces, which we will then test both in cross - races and on the road. We need to test the reliability and tune the ideal stiffness of the damping. Available for purchase by the end of the year, if all goes well.
Why are they more expensive than other replicas?
Chromium molybdenum (grade 15) is several times more expensive than grade 11 steel, from which other replicas are made. The inner glider has a wall of 2.6mm, replicas 2mm. All holders are ground with a vibrator after firing, they have the burrs removed, the edges on the belt are cut, the holes are deburred with a star. The axle eye is made on a lathe to have the exact size and also look good, after welding it is stretched to the final size on a frame. The welds are nice, unspattered, and straight.
