Exhaust elbow 29mm, TUNING (CZ) - JAWA 50 05,20
Can be used for:
Exhaust elbow for pioneer, type 21 sport and 23 mustang with an internal diameter of 29mm. The original exhaust elbow with a diameter of 26mm is one of the brakes when increasing engine power. The 29mm elbow is used together with modified cylinders for even greater use of the potential. It can be used both for major modifications and with slightly modified touring cylinders (2K, 3K, 4K, etc.)
Type 05, 20 and 21, 23 differ in shape. For the footrest cross, a different elbow must be used than for the rheumatological sheet metal.
Made of polished stainless steel. The length of the elbow from the flange to the end is 300mm in the center, it can be shortened to 210mm (almost to the bend). The flange has the original spacing for pins, the exhaust hole is 29mm.
Connected to the exhaust with a rubber coupling that resists gasoline, oils and temperatures up to 260°C.
When using this elbow, it is necessary to widen the exhaust opening of the cylinder (outlet - only aluminum) to 29mm (from the original 26mm). Ideal for use with hikone exhaust or original pressed - beveled exhaust. Also suitable for boring the muffler insert.
For the correct functioning and utilization of the maximum potential of the modified cylinder together with the 29mm exhaust elbow, the exhaust outlet on the cylinder needs to be modified. And how to do that? Let's take a look.
For the modification you will need:
The whole modification consists of stretching the cylinder exhaust outlet from the original diameter of 26mm to 29mm. We will only grind the aluminum casing, not the cylinder liner. The modification is therefore very simple and anyone can do it.
First, we will make a template according to which we will grind. You can cut it out of paper according to the drawing below, use a burned flange, or outline it with a compass.
Using a flange (we recommend - more accurate)
Outlining with a compass
Once you have the outlet outlined, you can grind. So gradually expand it to a diameter of 29mm as shown in the photo below. Be careful not to grind and get an edge between the channel and the elbow flange. If this happens, remove the edge by widening the exhaust elbow flange.
Here is the final result. Try to make the expansion gradual and without any edges (like in the photo).
Pay attention to the exhaust gasket, it must be stretched from 26mm to 29mm as well.
