Simson motorcycles are among the most well-known and reliable machines of East German production. They gained popularity thanks to their simple construction, low fuel consumption, and easy maintenance. The most widespread models include the Simson S50, its successor Simson S51, and the more powerful Simson S70, which are still highly sought after today for both restoration projects and everyday riding.

Great popularity was also enjoyed by the Simson S51 Enduro versions designed for light off-road use, the more modern Simson SR50 with scooter-style design, Simson Electronic models with contactless ignition, and the later Simson S83, which continued the S-series with a more modern setup. Thanks to the wide availability of spare parts, these legendary motorcycles can still be easily kept in operation today.
