The ČZ 175 Type 501, 502 and 505 scooters rank among the most famous Czechoslovak machines of their time. They appeared in production during the 1950s and 1960s as a more robust alternative to lightweight motorcycles. Thanks to their unconventional design, these scooters earned the well-known nickname “Prase” (“Pig”). To this day, they remain sought-after vintage vehicles and popular choices for restoration projects.
The first model, ČZ 175/501, was equipped with a 175 cc two-stroke engine and a robust steel construction. It was followed by the ČZ 175/502, which introduced technical improvements and more comfortable riding characteristics. The final version was the ČZ 175/505, also intended for service and utility use. These machines are also known as the ČZ 175 “Prase” scooter or simply ČZ Prase.
