The first successful model, Babetta 207, entered production in the 1970s and became well known for its automatic transmission and low maintenance requirements. Shortly after, the less common Babetta 208 was introduced, intended mainly for export markets. The subsequent Babetta 210 became the most popular model of the entire series, featuring a two-speed automatic transmission, improved suspension, and more comfortable riding characteristics. In the 1980s, derived versions also appeared, such as the Babetta 228, a model based on the 210 series with minor design modifications. The development was completed with the modernized Babetta 225, aimed primarily at foreign markets, offering a stronger frame and increased durability. The Babetta range also included stylistic variants, such as the elegant Stella moped, which was technically related to the Babetta models.
